Dad’s Bible

One of the many blessings God has given us over the past 2 weeks is being able to read through Dad’s Bible.

It is well worn and FULL of notes and quotes. A couple days ago, Dad was trying to say something about 2 Chronicles 20. It’s the story of Jehoshaphat’s prayer as the Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites came against Judah to battle.

Dad is in a battle. We are in a battle. But we are keeping our eyes on God.

Can you read the notes in the margin of Dad’s Bible?
Praise confuses the enemy.
Praise brings deliverance.
Praise blesses you.
Praise blesses others.
Praise blesses God.
Praise will in hard times reap a harvest of benefits.
Praise will bring joy.

For me at least, it is hard at times like these, to take my eyes off of my circumstances and feelings, BUT we are praising God. I so want the enemy confused!

Get your Bible out and read the 20th chapter of Chronicles. Especially the last verse!

“So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest round about” 2 Chronicles 20:30

Now for an update…
Dad seemed somewhat improved yesterday. A bit more responsive and trying to communicate more. So that is a praise! They are working with him in both physical therapy and occupational therapy, neither of which he likes doing. He is still not eating or drinking well and has had two falls. Please pray with us regarding these concerns. Pray for us as we try to figure out how best to help him and those who are caring for him… when to be with him and when to tend to other things. Most of the staff who are caring for him are kind and gentle with positive attitudes. Another praise! His primary physician is scheduled to visit him on Friday. We do feel like we are on a roller coaster most of the time, but are trying our best to take one day at a time and focus on the positive things. We can’t thank you enough for your prayers, calls, emails and notes of encouragement. We are so blessed to be part of God’s family. Please continue to pray… and PRAISE!
