waiting?

“And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you…blessed are they that wait for him. (Isa.30:18)

We must not only think of our waiting upon God, but also of what is more wonderful still, of God’s waiting upon us. The vision of Him waiting on us, will give new impulse and inspiration to our waiting upon Him. It will give us unspeakable confidence that our waiting cannot be in vain. Let us seek even now, at this moment, in the spirit of waiting on God, to find out something of what it means. He has inconceivably glorious purposes concerning every one of His children. And you ask, “How is it if He waits to be gracious, that even after I come and wait upon Him, He does not give the help I seek, but waits longer and longer?

God is a wise husbandman, “who waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it.” He cannot gather the fruit until it is ripe. He knows when we are spiritually ready to receive the blessing to our profit and His glory. Waiting in the sunshine of His love is what will ripen the soul for His blessing. Waiting under the cloud of trial, that breaks in the showers of blessings, is as needful. Be assured that if God waits longer than you could wish, it is only to make the blessing doubly precious. God waited four thousand years, till the fullness of time, ere He sent His Son. Our times are in His hands; He will avenge His elect speedily; He will make haste for our help, and not delay one hour too long.

  1. Ruthi,
Not sure if you remember me or not. It’s been Many years.
I have thought of you & your parents Often over the years.
My Dad kept me in touch with your parents over the years.
Lately I’ve been helping my Dad with his business things and I saw your Mother’s note about Art moving to the Towers. I’m heart broken for you all. I’ve always loved your parents.
I will Always remember the Good & Fun times from the past … Interbay Faith Church, the 2 years of classes together, etc.
I do have a Little understanding of what you are going through as we are having some issues with the aging process too. I sent a little note to your Mom with a very short update on my parents and their move (change of address). Pleases know that my prayers are with you all.
Give Both of your parents a HUGE hug from me.
Write me sometime, via email, & send me your e-mail too so we can catch up.

  2. Hi Aunt Ruthi,

  3. Ruthi, As I read the words of Andrew Murray, I envisioned the names of Art’s caregivers that we are praying for. Each day he is in that place, their lives are effected by Art, Evy, you, Mark, friends and even Max. When the work God is doing is completed, the wait will be over. We can trust His master plan. 4. My husband Paul Dye was invited by your Dad to speak at his camp? or some place and ever since that time we received your parents prayer letter. Sometimes they would enclose a little printed saying or verse inside the letter and I would put it in my kitchen window or in my office…They were always welcomed! Then I realized we weren’t getting one anymore and so I knew that something had happened…this growing old isn’t for sissies and it sounds like your parents are facing it head on…Thanks for being such a faithful son as well to make their lives so much sweeter in the midst of sorrow and bitterness…

Thanks for these blogs…Just found them and have been blessed….Thank God for friends….Do mention us to your folks. Who knows…they just might remember like he has remembered other “old” friends…It must have been in the 80’s that my husband went to share the kidnapping story with his group there…

God’s special blessings of grace and mercy during these days….We are also waiting….as a 87 year old friend of ours is just existing now, in bed all the time, can’t hear, can’t see and he wants SO badly to go to Heaven…Waiting…thanks for sharing all of that…a good reminder for sure…

    Sincerely in Christ…Mrs. Paul Dye
