Carrying Fire

In 2016 we saw the culmination of years of work with the publication of my mom, Evy Yohner’s book, Carrying Fire. Her memoir shares the wonder, joy, and heartaches of my parents’ journey as they followed God’s call to “carry their fire,” their passion for God and the lost, to Suriname, South America, to find and take the Gospel to the lost tribe of Akuriyos, and ultimately to an international ministry of teaching, encouragement, and support to other missionaries. Details of the struggles and humor of adapting to life in the jungle, a new culture, and raising me, their young daughter, while making expeditions deep in the jungle in search of the Akuriyos, makes this book a page-turner. Carrying Fire not only tells their story in words but also with amazing photos of a life lived for God.
