our family has some exciting news….
no, it’s not another dog…
that’s right! Amber and Jesse are expecting a baby in May 2010!!!
They came for a visit this weekend, which gave us the blessing of being able to celebrate this new miracle together as a family.
Dad enjoyed watching Mike and Jesse play golf on the putting green…
He looks pretty stylin’ in my sunglasses, wouldn’t you say…
It was a beautiful day by the river…
Together as a family we attended the worship service held at the Towers. It was a special time. When we sang Jesus Loves Me, it brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it was the simplicity of that song or maybe it was just hearing those precious people sing the best they could. There were even a few “amens” as the Word was shared. Good times!
Afterwards we brought in some good junk food for lunch, which Dad enjoyed like the rest of us.
The best part of the weekend was seeing this…
that familiar gentle smile from the man we all love and respect.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Indeed my heritage is beautiful to me…
In your presence is fullness of joy;
In your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalm 16:6, 11
All I can say is AHHHHH! What an absolutely breathtaking weekend with HUGE blesssings!

Lovely news! How exciting…. we’ve been wondering who would have the next baby in the family. Its definitely YOUR TURN! You’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
THere’s a reason why they are called “grand” children… can’t wait for you to catch the fever! Grandma Fever….or maybe you’ve already caught it! Let us know when/if you find out if I will be a great Uncle or a great Aunt…. lol

Dear Ruthi (and the rest of the family)
We are sooooo excited with you for the great news of Amber’s pregnancy. We look forward to being Opa & Oma again. I see the baby is due in May, Do you think the baby & I (“David) will share the same birthday ( May 20)? How exciting to think that God gives us the honor of bringing a new life into this world with all of the responsibilities and joys. As I tell others, When Grandma Esther & I knew we were expecting a baby, we immediatly dedicated that baby to the Lord. We realized He was making us a steward of that life. A time to nourish, a time to train, a time to enjoy, to love and a time to release, if it was to be as an adult or through death as a child. Each of our children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren, continue to bring us such joy as we watch them grow in His grace and trust the Lord in all circumstances. Thanks, Mark & Ruthi, Jesse & Amber, Mike & Veronica for all of the joy you bring to our lives and for letting us enter into your hearts by the blogs you write about your Dad, Ruthi. As we share your joy, I think of Psalm 127 & especially verse 3, “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.”

Ruthie,
Thank you for sharing these pictures and thoughts. In the last newsletter you and your mom sent, I sat and cried. I was not sure why I was crying. Part because of the money your mom sent for my ministry (I ALWAYS get chocked up when another ministry gives to mine – it is very humbling), part was probably thinking of the wonderful times I have had with your parents. When your dad lived with us about 3 days a week when he finished his degree, and I guess everything. I told your mother in the letter that I sent her, but I want you do know to, I keep the newsletter on our coffee table. This way I am reminded to pray for you, your family (and will now pray for the one that will enter the world in May), and your mom and dad. I pray many times a day because each time I walk back and forth in the house, I see it.
You are right about the one picture – that is your dad’s smile. What a great picture.
I will now bookmark your site so I can go to it easier.
much love,
Janice Banther
