Today I am linking up with Gypsy Mama in the Five Minute Friday Challenge over at {in}courage. Today’s challenge is to take five short minutes to just write and then leave it be… no editing, no re-thinking it. Just writing for the love of it, for the love of written words, to become Word Artist. So here goes…
::START::
I can get lost in a project, a good book, on pinterest, in my thoughts.
So I bought a timer. A pretty yellow timer to motivate the discipline the use of time.
Oh how I need the discipline of a timer. I need to be reminded to take time to be still.
To be still and know that He is God.To know that He is for me, not against me.
To still my eyes away from the computer screen and look at His creation He made for me outside my window.
To still my thoughts and take the advice of a wise man who said, “If I can stay calm, faithful and unconfused while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the purpose of God is being fulfilled in my life.” {Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, July 28}
It’s not easy for me to be still. But it is necessary and something I am nuturing.
::STOP::
Visiting from (in)courage today. thanks for your words. It is so easy to get distracted with the social media world out there and forget to sit still and enjoy the simple presence of God.

thank you Allison! I loved what you said about learning to be still in Him so we can go out and move the world. It is all about Him and what we can do for Him, not about us. Thank you for reminding me of that!
